Switzerland: Heididorf, Maienfeld

During our summer trip to Switzerland in August 2026, I had the opportunity to visit a particularly charming place for both travellers and cover collectors: the Heididorf in Maienfeld, the village dedicated to the world-famous story of "Heidi" by Swiss author Johanna Spyri.

For me as a collector, however, there is another very special reason to visit: Heididorf is home to what is described as the smallest post office in Switzerland. Located within the Heididorf visitor and souvenir shop, this tiny postal facility has its own special Heididorf postmark, making it an unusual philatelic destination.
