This German first-day cover commemorates the 70th anniversary of EUROPA stamps. It bears the 95-cent German EUROPA 2026 stamp and was cancelled with the matching first-day postmark (Bonn) on 7 May 2026.
A particularly interesting feature is the row of circular openings of the the stamp design. These are not merely printed white dots: they are genuine die-cut holes in the stamp itself. This gives the German issue a distinctive three-dimensional effect and sets it apart from, for example, the French EUROPA stamp also shown on this blog, where the circles are only represented graphically.
